Health scares during Monsoon
Ø  High humidity levels and dampness increase the risk of fungal infections. Skin and nails are the main body organs, which are prone to fungal infections because of regular exposure to water.
Ø  Body ache, fever and running nose are the most common health scares during monsoons due to cold and humid weather conditions.
Ø  General health problems include viral infections, Dengue, Malaria, Typhoid, Chikungunya, Gastroenteritis, Conjunctivitis,Hepatitis A, Allergies and Respiratory tract infections.
Ø  Food poisoning and contamination of food can cause Diarrhea.
Ø  Chronic health problems like Bronchitis and Arthritis tend to act up in this season mainly due to the fall in temperatures.
General health care tips for Monsoon
Ø  Keep your body warm and dry, especially your feet, to avoid fungal infection.
Ø  Use anti-fungal talcum powder to protect your skin from fungal infection.
Ø  Do not stay in wet clothes for too long as it can lead to fungal infection as well as a viral fever and body ache.
Ø  Drink plenty of water (purified) because high humidity levels tend to damage the skin.  It can also cause dehydration.
Ø  Avoid eating either street food or dining out in unhygienic places as virus and bacteria thrive under these conditions during the rains.
Ø  Take bath twice a day (in warm water) to wash off impurities and to ward off skin infections.
Ø  Keep your home clean and do not allow stagnant water (source of breeding of mosquitoes, which are the main disease carriers during monsoons) to accumulate around the house.
Ø  Consult a doctor if a fever lasts for more than two days, as it could be a symptom of malaria, dengue or typhoid.
Ø  Wear cotton clothes and loose clothes to keep your body well ventilated.
Ø  Use rainwear and raingear when you step out to keep yourself dry and to stay warm. This would help in fending off fever and common colds.
Ø  Consume moderate quantity of food, as digestion levels are low during this season. Also, do not keep food exposed to air for too long as it can get spoilt due to high humidity levels.
Ø  In order to avoid musculoskeletal injuries of grievous nature resulting from slipping & sliding, proper well-fitting footwear should be used in Monsoon. Avoid leather footwear as far as possible, which is unsafe & likely to be damaged in rain water.Best is to go for footwear with rubber soles to prevent accidents due to slips & slides in Monsoon rains.

Some tips for  filling petrol and diesel:-

Only buy or fill up your car or bike  during early  morning, when the  ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have  their storage tanks underground. . The colder the ground, the more dense  the fuel. When it gets warmer, petrol expands. So, buying in the afternoon  or in the evening, your  litre is not exactly a litre. In the  petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature play an  important role.
1 degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this  business. But the service stations do not have temperature  compensation at the pumps.

Another  most important tip is to fill up when your  tank is HALF FULL.  The reason for this is, the more fuel  you have in your tank the less is  the air occupying its empty space.  Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine.  Actually this can be noticed in the Fuel gauge (which indicates  Fuel level in the Tank) movement. Whereas the Indicator (in the Fuel gauge in the dashboard) moves slowly upto halfway stage, after the halfway  stage the movement is rapid. This is because the air inside the Fuel Tank increases the evaporation of the Fuel resulting in fuel level going down  even without Engine being in operation.

Another useful  information is to avoid filling up if there is a fuel truck pumping into  the storage tanks when you stop to buy. Most likely, the  petrol/diesel is  being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up  some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

Hope this will  help you get the most value for your money.

DO  SHARE THESE TIPS WITH OTHERS - IT IS IMPORTANT FOR AS MANY PEOPLE TO KNOW  ABOUT THIS,  ESPECIALLY IN THE WAKE OF RISING PETROL  PRICES.
